TodayTix and In the Heights

I recently heard about a new app called Today Tix which has just come over to the UK. It is the perfect app if you want to see a show in London last minute and want good seats at the tap of a button. The lovely people from the app gave me a free trial and when one of my plans got cancelled I decided it would be the perfect time to take Joshua up to London for a day of Christmas shopping followed by a show. There were thousands of shows to chose from but having heard great things about ‘In the Heights’ we booked our tickets and headed off to Kings Cross Theatre.

The show was using the Railway Children’s staging which meant we sat either side of a train platform. The show was based in New York in a latino neighbourhood where the characters were struggling to make ends meat. I won’t give too much of the story line away but it was an amazing show full of salsa, hip hop, rap and soul music along with some amazing dancers. Joshua particularly enjoyed the rapper, he was the only child in the audience but he loved it. The staging meant you felt a part of the show, if you were to watch from the other side of the platform you would probably have a completely different experience as you would be watching it from the other way round. I would recommend the show and will be using the TodayTix app for future last minute theatre deals.
